Monday. First, a reference image is selected and a scene or theme considered. The drawing begins on Monday evening between chasing screaming brats which involves resolving territorial and property disputes. Drawing is refined throughout the week in between running the restaurant for screaming brats and performing required tasks as head of household such as garbage hauling, barbequing and spider dispatching.
The masking comes next when the image is refined and complete on the art board. This is done with a bit of terror as it's a bit disconcerting running a sharp knife over the pencil lines while screaming brats argue and wrestle in the next room. This eventually leads to crying, either by myself with a knife accident, or one of the screaming brats who is certain he/she has lost an eye in the latest border/property dispute.
The painting takes place rather haphazardly on the weekend in between statements like the following from the screaming brats. The following are actual statements said or yelled this past weekend while working on Jungle March(culprit's names are encrypted for privacy)-
"Dad, E##n peed on me!"
"Dad, There's poop on the floor in the bathroom and I think I stepped on it!"(This said while standing next to me in the carpeted bedroom.)
"Dad, S#m stole my bike! Oh, I think I left it at A####s house."
"Dad, it's ok if I give B###e some of your fishing gear, yeah?"
"Dad, does the new laptop work under water?"
Despite the many other interesting and urgent statements and decrees by the screaming brats, artwork is finally finished at 10:00 pm Sunday evening and posted. Tomorrow is Monday.
