He's an old friend I left behind long ago.
I found him again and he simply smiled, a pleasant surprise.
He speaks only the truth as always, and it hurts sometimes.
He is older, wiser now, and quite forgiving.
I learned I should not forsake him again.
We have long conversations, then he fades away.
I put the pencil to the paper, and my old friend,
Who had gone away, and didn't quite yet exist again,
Would slowly come back.
